DK Expo, the organizer of the International Electric & Automation Show, now in its 14th edition, resumes the “Student Technical Innovation Awards” contest launched last year in the 13th edition, which enjoyed a real success.
Just like last year, the competition is open to all bachelor- and master’s level students of universities accredited in Romania and aims to award prizes to research results in the following areas: automation, electrical engineering, mechatronics and robotics, Internet of Things, constructions, installations, architecture, industrial software and hardware, nanotechnologies or Smart City.
The launch of the call for projects will begin on Monday, 18 June 2018. To enter the contest, an Abstract of up to 500 words, which will propose a research-innovation topic in the area described, must be sent to the address firstname.lastname@example.org until 31 July 2018. The projects may be submitted both individually and by research teams composed of students and university professors.
The competition has two sections: Start Up and Technical Innovation. In the Start Up section, innovation proposals for the target areas can be submitted. In the Technical Innovation section, proposals must take the form of a prototype or of a highly-interactive technology: software, HMI or Smart Technologies.
The winning project in each section will be awarded a €1,500 prize.
Depending on the number and availability of sponsors, prizes in cash or products will also be awarded to the finalist projects in each section. To be on the finalists list, each project must receive minimum 251 points out of a possible total of 500 points.
The Sponsor of the Start Up section is CASTEL DISTRIBUTION SRL.
The Student Technical Innovation Awards Gala will take place on the first day of IEAS 2018 (18 September 2018).
